Edinburgh Doors Open Day, part of European Heritage Days, is a celebration of the city’s architecture, culture and heritage and has been organised by the Cockburn Association (Edinburgh’s Civic Trust) since 1991. It is your chance to explore some of Edinburgh’s architecturally and culturally significant buildings - all for free.
From heritage landmarks to the city’s newest architecture, Doors Open Days offer free access to properties that are either not usually open to the public or would normally charge an entry fee. Many of the venues offer behind the scenes tours, activities, exhibitions, talks which bring the history of the building and its everyday use to life, free activities for children and families and more.
